Steps in Business Registration
1. Get a Barangay Clearance
2. If Sole Proprietorship – Register with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) for Business Name Certificate
If Partnership / Corporation – Register with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
If Cooperative – Register with the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA)
3. Secure Tax Identification Number (TIN) from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) District Office where the business is to be located
4. Apply for business permit and license from the city / municipality where the business is to be located. Also get sector specific clearances as necessary:
a. Travel agency – Department of Tourism (DOT)
b. Food and Cosmetics – Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD)
c. Pawnshop – Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP)
d. Schools – Department of Education (DepEd)
5. Register with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) District Office where the business is to be located for Authority to Print Invoice and Book of Journal
6. Register your business with the following offices for compliance to good employer-employee relationships, incentives and benefits, and social, community, and environmental responsibilities:
a. Social Security System (SSS)
b. Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)
c. Philhealth
d. HDMF
e. Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)
